The 1.5-inch hex and 2.56-inch drop dimension make it straightforward to torque and position during assembly. Question by: Kent B on Jun 11, 2025, 4:49 PM
Is this fitting okay to use with regular hydraulic hoses? I'm not working on AC.
Answer by: Customer Support on Jun 12, 2025, 6:15 PM
This carbon steel fitting works for both A/C refrigeration and general hydraulic hose applications.
Question by: Ronnie Y on Feb 26, 2026, 6:16 PM
fitting's got a 90-degree bend on it -- does that short pilot design actually give you enough clearance when you're routing hose in a tight spot under a cab or near a frame rail?
Answer by: Customer Support on Feb 28, 2026, 2:57 PM
The short pilot on this fitting is specifically what makes it useful in those cramped spots. Where a standard pilot would stick out further and foul against brackets or frame members, the shorter profile keeps the assembly more compact. Paired with the 90-degree elbow, it lets you redirect the hose without needing extra slack or awkward bends in the line. The 2.56-inch drop dimension and 1.5-inch hex also make it easier to get a wrench on it even when you don't have a lot of room to work.
Question by: Keith W on Sep 24, 2025, 2:40 PM
trying to swap out a 90 degree ORS fitting on a -16 hose, will this one match up with a 1-1/16-14 female thread?
Answer by: Customer Support on Sep 25, 2025, 5:56 PM
It lines up with what you described. The FJ5985-1216S is a 90 degree female O-ring face seal (ORS) fitting with a 1-1/16 - 14 UN female thread end, and it is listed as compatible with 1 inch hose ID (dash size -16).
