What exactly does this adaptor tube do, and what two things is it connecting?

Bridges a 5/16 inch FuelFlex tubing line to a 1/4 inch quick connect fitting. So if you've got FuelFlex on one end and a quick connect port on the other, this is the piece that ties them together without having to rework either side of the connection.
