Question by: Howard M on Apr 18, 2025, 11:01 AM
hose been sitting on the shelf a while before we got it, will the silicone hold up once we put it in service or does it go brittle from storage?
Answer by: Customer Support on Apr 20, 2025, 9:24 AM
Silicone holds up better in storage than most other hose materials. It doesn't dry out or crack the way rubber does, so a hose that's been sitting unused shouldn't give you trouble once it goes into service. The material stays flexible and keeps its strength over time, which is actually one of the main reasons folks in industrial and automotive work lean on silicone for heater hose applications.
