This Eaton Vickers FN Series inline flow control valve is designed for applications requiring fluid flow regulation without pressure compensation. It is not intended to be used as a shut-off valve. The valve is suited for applications where the load is relatively constant, minimizing the need for pressure compensation.

This hydraulic flow control valve features superior moisture resistance, reliable fluid flow regulation, and easy installation and maintenance. It has 3/8 NPT ports and a 10.00 GPM flow rating. The seal material is nitrile, and the fluid cleanliness is rated to 19/17/14 micron. It has a maximum operating pressure of 3000 PSI and a minimum working temperature of -20 Celsius.

Will this work for controlling flow on a hydraulic log splitter? Don't need anything fancy, just consistent speed.

These FN series valves are ideally suited for applications where you need flow regulation and the load is fairly consistent. So, yes, it should work well for that application.
