Product Questions & Answers (3)

Question by: Cody Y on Jul 2, 2025, 7:38 AM
hose is rated for 6000 psi, but what kind of temps can it actually handle before it starts breaking down?
Answer by: Customer Support on Jul 3, 2025, 1:08 PM
Rated for continuous use from -40°F up to 260°F, so it covers a pretty wide range of operating conditions. Cold starts in freezing weather won't cause the hose to stiffen and crack prematurely, and on the high end it holds up through heat that would degrade lesser hose constructions. The synthetic rubber tube and cover both contribute to that range, and the four-spiral wire reinforcement keeps it from swelling or deforming under pressure even as temps climb.
Question by: Clint E on Oct 5, 2025, 10:21 AM
What kinda fluids can this hose handle without breaking down?
Answer by: Customer Support on Oct 7, 2025, 9:14 AM
This hose is made for hydraulic systems running on petroleum and water-based fluids, so it should hold up just fine with those.
Question by: Vince R on Apr 14, 2025, 5:28 PM
got a tight spot to route this line, how sharp can i bend that GH493-8 hose without kinking it
Answer by: Customer Support on Apr 15, 2025, 7:26 PM
For routing, the minimum bend radius on the GH493-8 is 7.09 inches. Keeping your bend at or above that radius is the spec-backed way to avoid over-stressing the four-spiral wire reinforcement.
