does this unit need any kind of power hookup to run, or is it strictly mechanical?

No electrical connection needed at all. The RFIK200-B-6 runs entirely without power, which makes it straightforward to deploy on machines in the field where you may not have a outlet or battery pack handy. You just plumb it inline and read flow, pressure, and temperature directly off the gauges.
