sensor only works with HPM units that have SR input, is that right, or can it hook up to other data loggers?

Correct. The SR-PTT-150-05-0C outputs an SR signal, so it only works with HPM series units that have a matching SR input. It won't function properly with other data loggers or acquisition systems that don't support that signal type. The 5-Pin Push Pull electrical connection is also specific to that interface, so compatibility depends on both the signal type and the connector matching up on the HPM side.
