Got two female NPTF ports I need to tie together on a hydraulic line. This the right piece for that?

That's what this coupling is built for. It connects 3/8" NPTF female to 3/8" NPTF female, so if both your ports are threaded female NPTF in that size, this bridges them directly. Just make sure both sides are 3/8" NPTF and not NPT, since NPTF is a dry-seal thread and the fit matters for holding pressure.
