Description & Features

The H Series Geroter Motor is engineered for agricultural and industrial applications such as augers harvesters seeders and floor polishers. This compact yet powerful motor features a 4.50 cu in/rev displacement with a 4 bolt mounting flange ensuring a secure and efficient connection. The 1-inch straight keyed shaft and 1/2 NPT ports facilitate seamless integration into existing systems.

Designed by Danfoss Power Solutions II LLC the motor is built for extended bearing life and increased shaft seal durability making it a reliable component in demanding environments. The motor's recommended filtration is per ISO Cleanliness Code level 18/13 and it is compatible with premium quality anti-wear type hydraulic fluids.

For maximum performance the motor's fluid viscosity and operating temperature should be closely monitored with the minimum viscosity being the highest of 100 SUS or (20 x PSI)/RPM = SUS and the maximum operating temperature at 180F. The motor also includes a recommended break-in period for optimal longevity.

Will this motor hold up okay on a grain auger, running it pretty steady during harvest?

Designed for agricultural applications like augers, this H series motor should provide reliable performance during harvest. To assure the best motor life, run it for about an hour at 30% of rated pressure before putting it to work at full load. Be sure the motor is filled with fluid before you start.

what kind of fluid you supposed to run in one of these motors? got a buddy that just throws whatever hydraulic oil he has on hand in everything and i keep telling him thats probably wrong

Premium quality anti-wear hydraulic fluid is what this motor calls for. Beyond fluid type, viscosity matters quite a bit too. At operating temperature, you want the viscosity to be the highest of either 100 SUS or whatever you get from this formula: (20 x PSI) divided by RPM equals SUS. Running too thin of a fluid, especially at higher pressures and lower speeds, can wear the internals down faster than you'd expect. Your buddy's approach is the kind of thing that'll seem fine for a while and then cause a headache at the worst possible time.
