Running the motor for about an hour at 30 percent of its rated pressure is the right way to break it in. Make absolutely sure the unit is filled with premium anti-wear hydraulic fluid prior to applying any load to protect the bearings.

Keep operating temps at or below 180 degrees F and you'll be in good shape. Push past that consistently and you're looking at accelerated wear on seals and internals. The shaft seal on this unit is built for durability, but staying within that thermal limit is what keeps it that way long term.
