Designed for fire hydrant connections, this 1-1/2 in. Female National Standard Thread (FNST) x 1-1/2 in. Male National Pipe Thread (MNPT) pin lug adapter is manufactured in brass for reliable performance in demanding fluid transfer applications. The Dixon Fire Hydrant Adapter features a pin lug body style that allows for quick coupling and secure engagement with compatible hydrant outlets.
Brass construction offers good corrosion resistance and durability in wet service environments. The FNST inlet connects directly to standard fire hydrant outlets, while the MNPT discharge end provides compatibility with a wide range of threaded fittings and hose connections. This adapter is a practical solution for bridging hydrant supply points to standard NPT-threaded equipment and accessories.

Question by: Hubert M on Jan 21, 2026, 9:00 AM
Does the female end on this thing hook straight up to a standard fire hydrant outlet, or do I need some kind of extra fitting in between?
Answer by: Customer Support on Jan 22, 2026, 9:00 PM
The FNST (Female National Standard Thread) inlet on this adapter is made specifically to connect directly to standard fire hydrant outlets, so no additional fitting is needed on that end. The other side gives you a 1-1/2 inch Male NPT discharge, which opens it up to a wide range of threaded hoses and fittings that run on standard NPT connections.

got a hydrant outlet that’s 1-1/2 national standard thread. will this adapter let me hook up to regular npt stuff?
Answer by: Customer Support on May 22, 2025, 11:22 AM
For a hydrant outlet with 1-1/2 in. female national standard thread, the inlet on this adapter is 1-1/2 in. FNST to match that connection, and the outlet is 1-1/2 in. male NPT so you can transition over to common NPT threaded fittings or hose connections.
