Specially formulated for use with powered hydraulic pumps, the 55 Gallons, HF Hydraulic Oil for Powered Pumps is an Enerpac HF-Series fluid designed to deliver consistent performance across a wide range of operating temperatures. A high viscosity index of 100 minimum supports stable lubricity whether the system runs hot or cold.

The formulation includes anti-sludge, anti-rust, and anti-foam additives that help maintain fluid integrity over extended use. Anti-oxidation additives and maximum film protective lubricity contribute to long-term pump protection. Cavitation resistance and efficient heat transfer are built into the fluid's chemistry, making it well-suited for demanding powered pump applications. Note that this oil is not intended for hand-powered pumps; the Enerpac LX-Series oil is recommended for those applications.

got a powered Enerpac pump in the shop. is HF-104 the right oil for it, or am I supposed to run LX?

For powered hydraulic pumps, the HF-series oil is the recommended choice. LX-series oil is the one called out for hand powered pumps, and HF is specifically not for use in hand pumps.

For Enerpac powered pumps, the HF-series is exactly what's called for. It's got a viscosity index of 100 minimum, which keeps lubricity consistent across a wide range of operating temperatures. The formula also includes anti-sludge, anti-rust, and anti-foam additives, plus anti-oxidation protection, so you're getting solid all-around coverage for a powered system. Just make sure you're not running this in a hand pump, Enerpac specifies the LX-series oil for those.
