what exactly does the "right" mean on this fitting, is that like the orientation or angle of the banjo?

On banjo fittings, "right" refers to the directional offset of the fitting body. It indicates which way the banjo bolt hole is angled relative to the hose end, so when you're routing a brake line in a tight space, the fitting exits toward the right side rather than straight or to the left.
