What size key do I need for this coupling half? Quarter inch, right?

it's designed for a 1/4 inch key.

What kind of temperatures can this coupling handle? We run equipment in a cold storage facility and need something that won't get brittle on us in winter.

Cold storage should be fine depending on which spider element you pair with it. The Buna-N spider holds up from -20F down to 180F on the high end, but if your facility gets colder than that, the urethane spider version extends the low end all the way down to -80F. Either way the upper limit stays at 180F, so heat isn't usually the concern in your situation. Just make sure you're specifying the urethane spider when ordering if those temperatures dip real low.

got a 1 inch shaft with a 1/4 keyway, is this coupling half the right fit?
