Hi-Q Coupling Half, 0.50 Inch Bore, -- Inch Key

Description & Features

MAUREY Manufacturing's Hi-Q Coupling Half with a 0.50-inch bore is ideal for coupling hydraulic pumps to electric motors. This component is effective in preventing metal-to-metal contact offering fast installation and accommodating minor angular and center line misalignments. The coupling ensures high precision with its rust-resistant precision ground and machined parts.

The horsepower rating for the Buna-N spider is 7.2 and for the urethane spider it is 11.9. The temperature range for the Buna-N Spider is from -20F to 180F while the Urethane Spider operates efficiently between -80F to 180F. The coupling is constructed from sintered metal for models FC050-FC095 and machined cast iron for models FC099-FC225.

It supports a maximum angular offset capability of 1 and a maximum parallel offset capability of 0.015 inches making it versatile for a wide variety of industrial applications. Horsepower ratings at 1800 RPM provide the basis for driving hydraulic pumps with other speeds or applications detailed in the Technical Information section.

Product Questions & Answers (3)

Question by: Steve P on Feb 22, 2026, 8:58 PM
what's the temperature range on this thing if I go with the urethane spider instead of the buna-n?
Answer by: Customer Support on Feb 24, 2026, 12:47 PM
Urethane spiders handle a much wider cold-end range than Buna-N. You're looking at minus 80 degrees F on the low end, up to 180 degrees F on the high end. Buna-N only goes down to minus 20 degrees F, so if your setup runs in a cold environment or sees any real temperature swings, the urethane gives you a lot more headroom on that lower end. Both top out the same at 180 degrees F.
Question by: Daryl W on Mar 30, 2026, 10:32 AM
got a 1/2 inch shaft on my motor, is this coupling half the right bore for that
Answer by: Customer Support on Apr 1, 2026, 9:05 AM
With a 0.50 inch bore, it is sized for a 1/2 inch shaft. This is a Hi-Q coupling half commonly used to couple a hydraulic pump to an electric motor, and it is built to help avoid metal to metal contact while handling small alignment errors.
Question by: Billy P on Feb 3, 2026, 6:29 PM
I need to replace a coupling on a pump motor, and this one looks like it might do the trick. What kind of misalignment can this thing handle?
Answer by: Customer Support on Feb 5, 2026, 9:28 AM
This coupling half can handle a maximum angular offset of 1 degree and a maximum parallel offset of 0.015 inches, making it suitable for setups that aren't perfectly aligned.
