Product Questions & Answers (5)

Question by: Curt K on Jul 31, 2025, 8:58 AM
Running this on a drill rig that sees some pretty nasty conditions year round. What kind of temps can this hose actually hold up in before it starts giving trouble?
Answer by: Customer Support on Aug 2, 2025, 7:28 AM
Rated for use from -40°F all the way up to 200°F, so it covers a wide spread of operating conditions. The cover is pin-pricked synthetic rubber built to resist ozone and weathering, and the tube itself is an oil-resistant nitrile blend, which helps hold up in the kind of rough environments you'd find on a drill site. Cold snaps and summer heat both fall well within the rated range.
Question by: Peggy E on Jul 28, 2025, 4:03 PM
What kind of fittings work best with this hose?
Answer by: Customer Support on Jul 29, 2025, 6:15 PM
For attaching fittings, you'll want to look at Boss, Ground joint, Air hammer, or Air king style fittings. Crimp, swage, or interlocking clamps will get the job done too.
Question by: Hubert H on Mar 20, 2026, 3:31 PM
got a 4 inch air line now, is this hose actually 4" inside or is that measured different
Answer by: Customer Support on Mar 22, 2026, 6:26 AM
For sizing, the inside diameter on this hose is 4.00 inches, and the outside diameter is 4.80 inches. If you are matching an existing 4 inch air line, the 4.00 inch ID is the number that matters for flow and fitting size.
Question by: Howard A on Aug 11, 2025, 11:24 AM
hose rated for continuous air service or just intermittent use? got some pretty heavy drilling equipment that runs most of the day
Answer by: Customer Support on Aug 13, 2025, 6:42 AM
Rated up to 600 PSI, this hose is built for high-pressure air service in exactly the kind of heavy-duty settings you're describing. Oil field and drilling equipment is one of the primary applications it's made for. The nitrile blend tube resists oil contact, and the high-tensile steel wire reinforcement holds up under sustained pressure loads. The synthetic rubber cover handles abrasion and weather exposure on top of that, so it's not a light-duty product by any stretch.
Question by: Rusty S on Oct 31, 2025, 5:21 PM
got a tight spot to snake this through. how sharp can i bend it without kinkin it?
Answer by: Customer Support on Nov 2, 2025, 7:57 AM
For routing, the minimum bend radius is 20.08 inches. Keeping your bend at or above that radius helps prevent kinks and protects the steel wire reinforcement.
