Description & Features

Designed to protect hydraulic hose assemblies from heat, flame, and radiant energy, this 2.38 inch ID Hose Protective Fire Sleeve from Eaton Aeroquip provides reliable thermal shielding in demanding industrial environments. The silicone-coated fiberglass construction offers resistance to direct flame contact and continuous high-temperature exposure, making it well suited for use in mobile equipment, aerospace ground support, and industrial machinery where hose protection from heat sources is required.

Compatible clamps for securing the sleeve to hose assemblies are sold separately; two clamps (part number FF9217-0648S) are required per hose assembly. The catalog number for this product is C1HJ66, and it falls under commodity code 51145.

Product Questions & Answers (4)

Question by: Eddie W on Sep 5, 2025, 6:45 PM
firesleeve got a 2.38 inch ID, does that mean it fits snug over a standard hose or is there some play to it once its on?
Answer by: Customer Support on Sep 7, 2025, 11:24 AM
For a proper fit, the 2.38 inch ID is meant to slide over the hose assembly with enough room to account for the hose outer diameter plus any fittings or slight irregularities along the run. You'll want to confirm your hose OD falls within that range before ordering. Two clamps per hose assembly are required to secure it in place, so the sleeve does rely on those clamps rather than a friction-only fit. The clamp part number for this application is FF9217-0648S if you need to order those alongside it.
Question by: Curt W on Jul 11, 2025, 12:58 PM
Would this sleeve hold up if it was right next to the engine block?
Answer by: Customer Support on Jul 13, 2025, 9:09 AM
Designed to protect hoses from direct flame, this fire sleeve is made from braided fiberglass tubing and flame-resistant silicone rubber. Its construction is well-suited for environments with high heat exposure.
Question by: Ross B on May 30, 2025, 1:27 PM
what size hose is this sleeve actually built for? trying to figure out if a 2 3/8 inch hose fits inside it right
Answer by: Customer Support on Jun 1, 2025, 9:11 AM
The sleeve carries a 2.38 inch inner diameter, so a hose measuring right around 2 3/8 inches across will fit inside it. That's the bore size you're working with when sizing it up against your assembly.
Question by: Wayne K on Dec 15, 2025, 3:07 PM
What size clamp do I need to hold this fire sleeve in place?
Answer by: Customer Support on Dec 17, 2025, 6:00 AM
You'll need two of the FF9217-0648S clamps for each hose assembly.
