got a hose that measures right at 2.88 on the inside. is that the ID this sleeve is sized for?
Answer by: Customer Support on Jul 2, 2025, 7:39 AM
For sizing, the 2.88 inch ID is the inside diameter of the firesleeve itself, so it is meant to slip over a hose or coil where that sleeve ID is the fit you are after.
Question by: Lance G on Jun 17, 2025, 10:25 AM
fiberglass sleeve with silicone on it, does that mean it'll hold up if a hose runs right next to an exhaust manifold or open flame situation?
Answer by: Customer Support on Jun 18, 2025, 12:17 PM
Direct flame contact is exactly what this sleeve is built for. The braided fiberglass tubing is impregnated with flame resistant silicone rubber, so it acts as a barrier between the hose and the heat source rather than just slowing things down. It won't catch or sustain a flame, which matters a lot when you've got hydraulic lines running anywhere near ignition risk.

Reckon this fire sleeve will hold up if it's right next to a hot engine manifold?
Answer by: Customer Support on Jun 26, 2025, 6:33 AM
This hose fire sleeve is made to handle high heat, with a silicone rubber coating over braided fiberglass. It's rated for a minimum working temperature of -65 degrees Fahrenheit, so it should offer good protection near an engine manifold, but make sure you use the right clamps for a secure fit.

got a 2.88 id sleeve here, what’s it actually made of and what’s it for?
Answer by: Customer Support on Sep 15, 2025, 12:49 PM
Built for hose protection in flame exposure, it uses a single layer of braided fiberglass tubing that is impregnated with flame resistant silicone rubber to help shield the hose from direct flame.
