Engineered by Ultra Clean Tech Corp, the UC22 is a specialized cleaning projectile designed for hose, tube, and pipe systems with an inner diameter of 0.87 inches. This versatile solution is ideal for applications across hydraulic and pneumatic lines, fuel lines, food and beverage lines, steam pipes, heat exchangers, condensers, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems.
The launcher unit features a locking faceplate that pivots away from the body for quick and easy nozzle size changes. O-Ring seals ensure positive sealing, and an air inlet port comes equipped with a quick disconnect coupling. The trigger mechanism allows precise firing of the projectile, providing efficient cleaning.
Recommended for hose IDs of 5/8 inches and tube/pipe ODs such as H16, the UC22 can operate within a pressure range of 85 PSI to 150 PSI. Various nozzle sizes are available in four basic styles: hose & pipe, JIC, tube, and BSP, accommodating a broad spectrum of needs.

trying to clean out some 5/8 inside diameter hydraulic hose. what is the rule of thumb for sizing these things so they actually scrub the walls?

Getting the right fit relies on a simple calculation. For any line with an inside diameter of 2 inches or less, the outside diameter of the projectile needs to be approximately 20 percent larger than the hose inside diameter. The extra size gives the plug enough compression to wipe the inside walls effectively as it travels.

i’ve got hose that measures right at 0.87 on the inside, is UC22 the right cleaning “slug” for that size?
