got a hose that measures right at 2 inch on the outside. is this clamp gonna cover that or am i too close to the edge

You want your hose or tube outside diameter to land between 1.81 inches and 2.75 inches. A 2 inch OD sits comfortably inside that range, so the clamp should have adjustment room to tighten down properly.

Band's 300 series stainless and the screw's 410 series stainless, what's the reasoning behind mixing those two grades?

Each grade brings something different to the table. The 300 series used for the band and housing gives you strong corrosion resistance across a wide range of environments, which matters when the clamp is exposed to moisture or chemicals over time. The 410 series on the screw is a harder martensitic stainless, so it holds up better under the repeated stress of tightening without stripping or galling the way a softer alloy might. Running a harder material on the fastening component and a more corrosion-resistant alloy on the structural parts is a pretty common and practical approach for clamps that need to last in tough conditions.

Hey, reckon this here clamp would hold up okay outside? We get some pretty nasty weather rollin' through.
