Steel Inline Easy Read Flow Control Valve is designed for precise flow adjustments in one direction while allowing free flow in the opposite direction. Purpose-built for hydraulic systems this valve supports a maximum operating pressure of 5000 PSI and a rated flow of up to 6.00 GPM. Precision settings are easily achieved with color coding and a numerical readout allowing adjustments within a small fraction of a turn. The body is constructed from durable steel with a stainless steel needle Viton O-Rings and Teflon washer seals for reliable long-term performance.

got a cylinder on a log splitter that keeps drifting faster than i want when it extends, would a valve like this help me dial that back while still letting it retract free?

For that kind of setup, yes. Flow control valves in this family let you restrict flow going one direction while the opposite direction passes through unrestricted. So you could slow the extend stroke down to whatever feels right and the retract would stay free-flowing. Rated up to 6 GPM and 5000 PSI, it fits comfortably in most small cylinder circuits running standard hydraulic pressure. The 1/4-18 NPT female ports are a common thread size on log splitter hydraulic connections, so fitting it in shouldn't require any unusual adapters.

need to slow a cylinder down one way but let it come back quick. is that what this valve does?

For a cylinder that needs controlled speed in one direction and a free return the other way, that is exactly the job of this inline flow control. It meters flow in one direction for a steady, adjustable rate, and it allows free flow in the opposite direction.

Hey, could you lock this valve at a certain setting so it doesn't get bumped outta place?
