Designed for controlled unidirectional flow with free flow in the reverse direction, the Brass Inline Easy Read Flow Control Valve, Female 3/4-14 NPT Ports, Up to 20.00 GPM & 2000.00 PSI is well suited for pneumatic systems and lower-pressure hydraulic applications. The brass body construction with a brass needle and Viton® O-ring seal supports a working range of -15°F to 200°F at pressures up to 2000 PSI non-shock.

Color coding and a numerical readout on the metal knob allow precise, repeatable flow adjustments, each full turn corresponds to one color band, enabling fine-tuned control within a fraction of a turn. A set screw allows the adjustment to be locked once the desired flow rate is set. The Teflon® washer seal, stainless steel ball and spring, and Delrin ball follower round out the internal construction. Flow adjustment can be made under pressure without removing the valve from service.

got a cylinder that needs to slow down one way but return quick, is that what this valve does?

For a setup like that, it is meant to meter flow in one direction and allow free flow the other way. That gives you controlled speed one way, with an easier return in the reverse direction.

What size wrench do I need to adjust the flow on this thing? Seems like it'd be easier than fiddling with that little knob.

This valve is designed so you can adjust the flow under pressure just using the metal knob. The color coding and numerical readout on it let you make pretty precise adjustments. Once you get it where you want it, there's a set screw to lock it in place.
