This Danfoss / Eaton Hose End 04E Series fitting assembly is designed for general-purpose low and medium pressure hydraulic applications. Use H277 or H435 hoses where shock hazards exist.

This fitting features Dura-Kote plating for superior corrosion resistance and an innovative design to deliver reliable performance and maximum uptime, while extending hose assembly life. It has a male NPT end with a 0.375-inch end size and is constructed of carbon steel.

trying to match up a hose end i’ve got, is IG04E-106 the one with a 3/8 male NPT and for a -4 hose?

Got a hose assembly running in a spot where it takes some pressure spikes and bumps regular. Should I be using a different hose with this fitting?

For applications where shock loads are a factor, you'll want to pair this fitting with either H277 or H435 hose. The 04E series itself is rated for general-purpose low and medium pressure hydraulic use, so the fitting is fine, but the hose selection is what makes the difference when shock hazards are in the picture.
