Will this fitting hold up if I use it for hydraulics on farm equipment, or should I go with something heavier duty?

For general-purpose low and medium pressure hydraulic applications, it should work fine. But if you've got a situation where shock hazards are a concern, you'll want to use H277 or H435 hose instead.
