WeatherGRIP Z series hose end

Description & Features

Designed for general purpose low and medium pressure hydraulic applications, the WeatherGRIP Z Series hose end is a female ORS swivel fitting assembly constructed from carbon steel. The Dura-Kote plating provides strong corrosion resistance, making it well-suited for demanding service environments where fitting longevity and reliable sealing are priorities.

Sized for -12 hose dash and carrying an SAE J1176 certification, this fitting features a 1.13-inch hex and is engineered as part of a system-level approach to extending hose assembly service life. For applications where shock hazards are present, Eaton Weatherhead recommends H277 or H435 series alternatives in place of this fitting.

Question by: Curt P on Jan 11, 2026, 4:14 PM
What kind of hydraulic jobs is this hose end best suited for?
Answer by: Customer Support on Jan 12, 2026, 8:56 PM
It's designed for general purpose, low to medium pressure hydraulic applications. Just a heads up, if you're dealing with applications where shock hazards are a concern, Eaton Weatherhead recommends the H277 or H435 series instead of this one.
Question by: Eddie P on Jan 21, 2026, 6:04 PM
Got a -12 hose assembly running in a pretty rough environment, lots of moisture and grime. Will this fitting hold up or am I gonna be replacing it every season?
Answer by: Customer Support on Jan 23, 2026, 5:48 PM
Corrosion is where this fitting earns its keep. The Dura-Kote plating gives it a solid layer of protection against moisture and harsh conditions, so it holds up better than a lot of standard carbon steel fittings would in that kind of service. It's built with longevity in mind, and the system-level engineering behind the WeatherGRIP Z Series is specifically aimed at extending hose assembly life rather than just getting you through the short term.
