Designed for air brake hose lines, this brass fitting from Eaton Weatherhead connects a -8 dash size hose to a 1/2-inch PTF SAE Short male pipe thread. The Danfoss / Eaton Hose End 338B Series is a male rigid crimp fitting assembly engineered to maintain reliable connections in demanding brake system environments.
Dura-Kote plating provides strong corrosion resistance, making this fitting well-suited for applications where exposure to moisture or contaminants is a concern. The system-engineered design is intended to extend hose assembly service life and support maximum uptime in critical air brake circuits.

got a -8 air brake hose, will this crimp end match up with a 1/2 PTF SAE short male thread or am i lookin at the wrong one
Answer by: Customer Support on Mar 31, 2026, 8:07 PM
You want the same two callouts this hose end is built around: a -8 dash size hose on the crimp side and a 1/2 inch PTF SAE Short male pipe thread on the connection side. It is a male rigid crimp fitting assembly meant for air brake hose lines.

fitting's got Dura-Kote plating on it -- does that hold up alright when it's getting hit with road spray and moisture regular like on a truck air brake line?
Answer by: Customer Support on Jun 18, 2025, 2:30 PM
Brass with Dura-Kote plating handles moisture and contaminant exposure well, which is exactly the environment this fitting was built for. Air brake hose lines on trucks see plenty of road spray, and the corrosion resistance on this one is specifically part of what the design accounts for. It's not just a cosmetic coating -- it's there to keep the fitting serviceable in conditions where bare brass would degrade faster.
Question by: Cheryl K on Apr 8, 2025, 2:05 PM
How durable is this fitting, especially if it's gonna be exposed to the elements a lot?
Answer by: Customer Support on Apr 9, 2025, 7:59 PM
Dura-Kote plating provides enhanced corrosion resistance, making this fitting well-suited for applications where exposure to moisture or other contaminants is a concern.
