This inline pneumatic flow control valve is designed for controlled flow in one direction with free flow in the opposite direction. The valve features a four-stage tapered needle design that provides infinite control settings. Its composite body is tough and corrosion-resistant.

Color-coded micrometer and a calibrated adjustment knob provide instant reference points for repeatable settings. A red locking ring prevents unwanted adjustment, and a tamper-resistant wire is included. This Inline Pneumatic Flow Control Valve has 1-20 UNEF-2A ports and a 15 SCFM flow rating.

This valve is rated to a maximum operating pressure of 200 PSI and a temperature range of 0° to 200°F. It is threaded for easy panel mounting.

needle valve or flow control, what exactly is the difference with this one and how's it supposed to work in a pneumatic line?

Flow control valves like this one allow air to move freely in one direction while metering it in the other. So if you need a cylinder to extend slow but retract fast, you'd plumb it so the controlled direction handles the movement you want to pace. The four-stage tapered needle gives you a wide range of fine adjustments rather than a coarse on-off feel, which makes dialing in a specific speed a lot more repeatable than a standard needle valve.

got a little cylinder that needs to slow down one way but return quick, is that what this valve does

For motion control, it meters flow in one direction and allows free flow in the opposite direction, so you can slow the actuator one way and let it come back without restriction.
