Question by: Duane D on Apr 3, 2026, 9:10 PM
What kind of iron is this fitting made from, and is it actually strong enough for regular shop use?
Answer by: Customer Support on Apr 4, 2026, 9:34 PM
Close grained, high tensile malleable iron is what you're getting here. That's a solid material choice for shop and industrial hydraulic lines work. It holds up well under the kind of stress that comes with everyday use, and the malleable construction means it's got more give than standard cast iron so it won't crack as easy if something shifts or settles in your line.

Just wanna make sure this elbow fitting will work with standard black iron pipe?
Answer by: Customer Support on Mar 23, 2026, 7:43 PM
it's threaded to the American Briggs Standard, so it should fit your standard black iron pipe just fine.
Question by: Bonnie W on Sep 5, 2025, 10:19 AM
got a 1-1/2 inch line i need to turn 90 degrees, is this the kind with male threads on one end and female on the other?
Answer by: Customer Support on Sep 7, 2025, 9:48 AM
For a 90 degree change in direction where one side screws into a female threaded opening and the other side accepts a male threaded pipe, a street elbow is the right style. This one is a 1-1/2 inch 90 degree street elbow with American Briggs Standard pipe threads.
