Description & Features

This Eaton Vickers KDG4V-3(S) Series D03 proportional valve is designed for subplate or manifold mounting. This 4-way, 3-position valve features a spring-centered, closed-center spool, and meter-out functionality.

Ideally suited for applications such as die casting, machine tools, marine/offshore, presses, primary metal processing, paper manufacturing, test equipment, simulation, and turbine control, this high-performance proportional valve provides precise control of fluid flow. It operates at a maximum pressure of 3000 PSI and features a 12VDC DIN 43650 coil and standard manual override.

The gray iron body ensures durability in demanding environments, while fluorocarbon seals provide reliable performance. This valve is designed to fill the performance gap between conventional solenoid-operated directional valves and servo valves, offering control of spool position and metered fluid flow.

What kind of hydraulic fluid should I be using in this valve?

Recommended filtration should meet ISO 4406 Cleanliness Level 18/16/13 for pressures up to 3000 PSI, and Level 17/15/12 for pressures above 3000 PSI.

what's the max pressure this valve can handle at the tank port? running a high cycle press application and can't afford to get that wrong

At the tank port, this particular valve is rated for 3000 PSI. That's the High Performance rating, which is what this model carries. Ports P, A, and B go up to 5000 PSI, but keep in mind that anything above 3000 PSI at those ports requires a steel subplate or manifold, not gray iron. For a press application, that subplate material detail is worth double-checking before you bolt anything down.
