Got a small power unit I'm trying to keep tight on space. Would a square plastic tank like this sit better than one of them round metal ones for a compact setup?

Square tanks generally pack into tight spots a lot more efficiently than round ones, and that holds true here. The geometry lets you mount it flush against other components without wasting corner space.
