Designed to keep contaminants out of hydraulic cylinder assemblies, the Hercules Wiper Seal is a standard component in rod sealing systems where preventing ingress of dirt, dust, and moisture is critical to long-term seal performance. Wiper seals mount at the outer edge of the cylinder head, contacting the rod as it retracts to scrape debris from the rod surface before it can reach inner sealing elements.
Manufactured by Hercules Sealing Products, this wiper seal is suited for use in industrial hydraulic cylinders and related linear actuator assemblies. It is a dependable replacement or service part for maintenance applications where OEM or equivalent-grade components are required.

Question by: Troy M on Nov 4, 2025, 7:17 PM
Is this the right part to use as a replacement wiper seal on an industrial hydraulic cylinder, or is it more of an OEM-specific piece?
Answer by: Customer Support on Nov 6, 2025, 6:14 PM
Replacement and service applications are exactly what this seal is built for. Hercules Sealing Products makes it as an equivalent-grade component, so it fits right into standard industrial hydraulic cylinder rod sealing systems the same way an OEM part would. It mounts at the outer edge of the cylinder head and contacts the rod on the return stroke to scrape off dirt, dust, and moisture before any of that mess gets to the inner sealing elements. As long as your cylinder takes a KW-3000, you're in good shape. It also crosses over to part numbers C1DD18, MI-02227768, and MINO-00407X30543 if you're trying to match it against something in your records.

got a rod seal setup on a cylinder, what’s this wiper seal actually do for me
Answer by: Customer Support on May 29, 2025, 7:06 AM
On a hydraulic cylinder, a wiper seal sits at the outer edge of the cylinder head and rides on the rod. When the rod retracts, it scrapes dirt, dust, and moisture off the rod surface so that contamination does not get carried into the inner sealing elements.
