Malleable Iron Pipe Fitting, 1-1/2 Inch Cap

Description & Features

Cast from close-grained, high tensile malleable iron, this 1-1/2 inch cap is designed to terminate threaded pipe ends cleanly and reliably in industrial systems. The Malleable Iron Pipe Fitting, 1-1/2 Inch Cap is threaded to American Briggs Standard for pipe threads, ensuring compatibility with standard NPT pipe in that size class. Each opening is chamfered to allow easier hand-starting during assembly, which reduces installation time in the field.

Supplied in a black finish, this cap is well suited for use in hydraulic, pneumatic, fuel, and industrial fluid line applications where a secure, permanent end closure is required. MRC Global manufactures this fitting under the Midland Industries brand, and it carries catalog number C1AD91.

Question by: Dwayne H on May 1, 2025, 4:22 PM
got a 1-1/2 inch threaded pipe end i need to close off, is this the right cap size?
Answer by: Customer Support on May 3, 2025, 8:55 AM
For a 1-1/2 inch pipe thread, this cap is sized to match that nominal 1-1/2 opening and it uses American Briggs Standard pipe threads, so it is meant to screw onto a 1-1/2 threaded male pipe end.
Question by: Frank J on Feb 10, 2026, 6:59 AM
these thread up to standard black iron pipe fittings, or do I need something special to make em fit right?
Answer by: Customer Support on Feb 11, 2026, 6:48 PM
Standard black iron pipe is exactly what these are made for. The threads follow American Briggs Standard, which is the same thread spec used across common malleable iron pipe fittings. As long as your pipe is cut and threaded properly, assembly should go smoothly. The opening is also chamfered, so getting the threads started is easier than with fittings that skip that detail.
