Question by: Donna M on Oct 4, 2025, 11:15 AM
Reckon this coupling will hold up okay in a shop environment with some grease and grime floating around?
Answer by: Customer Support on Oct 6, 2025, 7:00 AM
The malleable iron construction is plenty durable for industrial use, so typical shop dirt shouldn't be a problem.
Question by: Merle R on Apr 21, 2025, 4:55 PM
got a 1-1/2 inch black pipe run, is this coupling the right deal to join two threaded ends?
Answer by: Customer Support on Apr 23, 2025, 7:27 AM
For connecting two 1-1/2 inch male pipe threads, this coupling is made for that job. It is a malleable iron coupling with threads cut to the American Briggs Standard, so it matches common pipe threading, and the chamfered openings help the pipe start in easier.
Question by: Janice B on Dec 31, 2025, 11:44 AM
does this coupling work with standard black iron pipe, or is it something different i'd need special fittings for?
Answer by: Customer Support on Jan 2, 2026, 6:36 AM
Standard black iron pipe is exactly what this coupling is built for. The threads follow the American Briggs Standard for pipe threads, so it'll mate up correctly with any pipe cut and threaded to that same spec. The chamfered openings on both ends also make getting the pipe started a good bit easier, especially when you're working in a tight spot.
