Question by: Ross M on Nov 18, 2025, 8:05 AM
Will this union fitting hold up okay in a shop environment where it might get bumped around a bit?
Answer by: Customer Support on Nov 20, 2025, 6:10 AM
Constructed from high tensile close-grained iron, this fitting is durable enough for robust systems and environments, offering reliable performance even with some potential bumps.
Question by: Cody H on Nov 12, 2025, 1:38 PM
what's this union made out of, and will it hold up in a real working setup or is it more of a light duty thing?
Answer by: Customer Support on Nov 14, 2025, 6:40 AM
Close-grained, high tensile malleable iron is what you're working with here. That material handles stress and vibration better than standard cast iron, so it's built for actual industrial use rather than light residential hydraulic connections. BMI put this together to spec, and the chamfered openings make assembly straightforward without fighting the fitting to get it seated right.
Question by: Billy R on Aug 14, 2025, 12:30 PM
got a 1 inch black pipe run and need something i can break apart later, is this the right kind of fitting?
Answer by: Customer Support on Aug 15, 2025, 9:13 PM
For a setup you may need to disconnect down the road, a 1 inch union is the fitting made for that job. It lets you join two threaded pipe sections and then separate them again without having to spin the whole pipe run.
