Designed for removing gears, bearings, and other press-fitted components, the Mechanical Jaw Puller from Spx Hydraulic Technologies offers an 11-inch reach and 12-inch spread to accommodate a wide range of pulling tasks. Rated at 13 tons, it is built for demanding industrial pulling applications where secure grip and reliable force are critical.
The Grip-O-Matic® feature automatically increases jaw grip as pulling force increases, providing progressive holding security throughout the pull. Available as a 2-way, 3-way, or 2/3-way combination puller, this model gives technicians the flexibility to match the tool configuration to the specific job. Forged from high-quality steel and heat treated, each puller is tested to loads exceeding its rated capacity before leaving the factory.
When selecting a puller, confirm that both the reach and spread dimensions of the tool exceed those of the actual pulling job.

Question by: Freddie M on Jul 19, 2025, 5:02 PM
what's the most this puller can handle spread-wise? got a gear that's sitting pretty wide and don't want to order the wrong thing
Answer by: Customer Support on Jul 21, 2025, 4:51 PM
Maximum spread on this unit runs 12 inches, and the reach goes out to 11 inches. Before you order, compare both those numbers against your actual job. The puller's dimensions need to be greater than what the job demands, not just equal to it. If your gear is right at 12 inches of spread, you'd want to step up to a larger unit to keep a safe working margin.

What's the reach and spread on this puller? Just wanna make sure it'll fit what I need it for.
Answer by: Customer Support on May 30, 2025, 6:42 AM
This mechanical jaw puller has a reach of 11 inches and a spread of 12 inches. Comparing those measurements to your project is the best way to ensure proper fit.
Question by: Eddie H on Dec 3, 2025, 6:13 PM
Trying to pull a bearing off a shaft, how do i know if this puller is big enough?
Answer by: Customer Support on Dec 5, 2025, 6:50 AM
Selection comes down to matching the job to the puller’s reach and spread. This model has an 11 inch maximum reach and a 12 inch maximum spread, so the puller you pick needs to be larger than what you are trying to grab and pull.
