CAUTION	Before the pump is started, fill the case through the uppermost drain port with hydraulic fluid of the type to be used. The case of the pump must remain full at all times. The case drain line must be connected directly to the reservoir and terminate below the oil level.
Features	Compact, lightweight aluminum housing.
Recommended Filtration	ISO 4406 Cleanliness Level 18/13 or cleaner.

What all do I need to do before firing this thing up the first time? Don't wanna mess anything up right off the bat.

Before starting the pump, be sure to fill the case with hydraulic fluid through the uppermost drain port. It's also important that the case of the pump remains full at all times, and the case drain line is connected directly to the reservoir, terminating below the oil level.
