This SPX Hydraulic Technologies hand pump is a two-speed, single- or double-acting hydraulic pump designed for applications with limited free travel.

The P Series Two-Speed Single/Double Acting Hand Pump features rugged, all-metal construction for strength and durability, even in welding environments. Its heavy-duty, formed metal handle reduces flex and operator fatigue, while the fill cap seal acts as a safety valve to prevent reservoir over-pressurization. The large valve knob provides added control for metering loads down.

This hand pump offers a maximum pressure of 325 PSI in low pressure mode and 10,000 PSI in high pressure mode. It requires a handle effort of 140. Dimensions: A=8.25, B=21.00, E=22.63, F=8.50.

What's the deal with that fill cap seal? Is it just to keep crud out of the oil, or does it do more than that?

That fill cap seal actually doubles as a safety valve. It's there to keep the reservoir from getting over-pressurized.

got a job where there ain’t much free travel before it starts working. is this P300 the kind of hand pump meant for that?

For setups with little or no free travel, the P Series two speed hand pump is called out as a good fit. It also has an all metal build and a formed metal handle to cut down on flex and operator fatigue.
