got a P3000 series pump I'm rebuilding and need to know if this seal kit covers the front section specifically or is it for the whole unit?

Front section only. The kit includes the seals needed for that one section of the P3000 series pump or motor, so if you're doing a full rebuild you'd want to account for any other sections separately. For front section service work though, this is exactly what you'd reach for.
