does this pump work with double-acting cylinders or just single-acting? got a job coming up and need to make sure before I order

Double-acting cylinders are exactly what this pump is built for. The P84 is one of only two steel hand pump models in the Ultima lineup that supports double-acting cylinders and tools, so you're good to go for that application.

For double-acting cylinders, the compatible Ultima steel hand pump models called out are the P84 and P464. This one is the P84, so it fits that use.
