does this cap work with regular liquid transfer lines, or is it only for certain setups?

Liquid transfer is exactly what it's built for. The body is 70% polypropylene and 30% fiberglass, with stainless steel cam lever handles and a Buna-N seal. It handles standard 2-inch cam and groove connections and meets both MIL-C-27487F and DIN282 specs, so it'll interchange with other fittings made to those same standards. Just keep it away from compressed air and steam, those two are a hard no for any cam and groove coupling in this lineup.
