How much suction can this hose handle? Like, if I'm really pulling something thick through it?
Answer by: Customer Support on Dec 29, 2025, 9:04 AM
This Puma hose is rated for 28 inches of mercury vacuum service, so it's pretty capable for suction duties. Just stay within that limit to avoid collapse.
Question by: Ralph R on Aug 5, 2025, 8:47 AM
got a tank setup that needs a 4 inch suction line, is this hose actually 4" inside or is that outside?
Answer by: Customer Support on Aug 6, 2025, 1:37 PM
For sizing, the inside diameter is 4.00 inches and the outside diameter is 4.58 inches, so it is a true 4 inch ID hose.
Question by: Chad F on Jul 25, 2025, 4:40 PM
what's the vacuum rating on this hose? got a suction application running around 25 inches and want to make sure it'll hold up
Answer by: Customer Support on Jul 27, 2025, 3:44 PM
Rated for 28 inches of mercury on vacuum, so 25 inches falls within what it's built to handle. The NBR blend tube and dual helical steel wire reinforcement keep the hose from collapsing under that kind of draw, which is the main concern with suction lines at that diameter.
