Rated for 10,000 psi (700 bar) and built around a single-acting spring-return design, the 32.4 ton Capacity, 2.44 in Stroke, Low Height Hydraulic Cylinder from Enerpac is well-suited for general lifting and production work in confined or restricted spaces. The 2.44 in (62 mm) stroke and 2.88 in (73.2 mm) cylinder bore are packaged into a low collapsed height that supports stable use in both vertical and horizontal orientations.

Unlike cylinders that depend on load weight for plunger retraction, this RCS-Series model uses a built-in return spring for faster, more consistent cycling. A plated steel plunger with grooved end and threaded holes accommodates tilt saddle mounting, while the integrated plunger wiper helps limit contamination and extend service life. At 15 lbs (6.8 kg), the cylinder is manageable for repositioning on the job. A baked enamel finish provides corrosion resistance, and a CR-400 coupler with dust cap is included.

Got a lift job where clearance is real tight, does this cylinder have enough travel to be worth usin, or is the stroke too short for most practical work?

At 2.44 inches of stroke, it's purpose-built for low-clearance situations where you just need enough travel to break a load free or seat a component. That kind of stroke is plenty for production fixtures, press frames, and maintenance lifts where the range of motion is controlled and predictable. If your job calls for longer travel, this ain't the right tool. But for tight-quarters lifting where every inch of height matters, the short stroke is a feature, not a limitation.
