RH Series Center Hole Single-Acting Cylinder, 30 Ton, Inch Rod, Inch Stroke

Description & Features

Rated at 30 tons and designed for precise linear force applications, the RH Series Center Hole Single-Acting Cylinder is built to ASME B30.1 standards and operates at 10,000 PSI. The center hole configuration makes it well suited for pulling and tensioning cables, anchor bolts, and forcing screws, as well as applications requiring pass-through rod access.

The cylinder body features a corrosion-resistant standpipe with Power Tech treatment, and interchangeable piston head inserts provide flexibility across varied setups. A threaded collar is included on this 30-ton model, and all cylinders in this series, except the RH120, come furnished with a 9796 3/8" NPT female half coupler. The extended height of 15.75 inches and an effective piston area of 6.34 sq in are consistent with the full specification details available in the product table.

Manufactured by Spx Hydraulic Technologies, this cylinder is part of the RH Series single-acting lineup, which spans models from 12 to 100 tons to accommodate a range of load requirements.

Question by: Patty W on May 19, 2025, 1:59 PM
got a job where I need to run a cable or rod straight through the cylinder, will the RH306 do that?
Answer by: Customer Support on May 21, 2025, 7:06 AM
For pull and tension work where you need pass-through access, the RH306 is a center hole single-acting cylinder with a 1.281 inch hole. It is commonly used for tensioning cables, anchor bolts, and forcing screws, and it is rated at 30 tons at 10,000 PSI.
Question by: Marvin B on Jul 2, 2025, 7:23 PM
What size is that center hole? Gotta make sure my stuff fits through it.
Answer by: Customer Support on Jul 4, 2025, 7:16 PM
The center hole diameter on this SPX RH306 cylinder is 1.281 inches.
Question by: Bobby B on Mar 29, 2026, 9:53 PM
Got a bolt tensioning job coming up and this center hole setup caught my eye. What size is the hole running through the middle, and what kind of pass-through access does it actually give you?
Answer by: Customer Support on Mar 31, 2026, 6:48 AM
The hole diameter on this cylinder is 1.281 inches, which is sized to allow cables, anchor bolts, or forcing screws to pass straight through the piston. That center hole design is really the whole point of this series. Rather than applying force to the end of a fastener or rod, you thread or feed it through the cylinder and pull or tension from the other side. It works well for bolt tensioning setups where you need the hydraulic force applied along the axis of the fastener itself.
