RL Series Locking Collar Single Acting Cylinder, 100, Inch Stroke

Description & Features

Rated at 100 tons and 10,000 PSI, the RL Series Locking Collar Single Acting Cylinder is built for demanding lifting and pushing applications where load must be held securely without maintaining hydraulic pressure. The locking collar nut, 1.500 inches thick, engages mechanically to support the lifted load once the desired position is reached, making it well-suited for maintenance, fabrication, and heavy industrial positioning work.

Constructed from aluminum, the cylinder delivers significant weight savings compared to steel cylinders of equivalent capacity, improving portability without compromising performance. An integrated carrying handle further supports easy transport between work sites. With an extended height of 19.625 inches, the unit provides substantial stroke range for a wide variety of lift configurations. Manufactured by Spx Hydraulic Technologies and compliant with ASME B30.1, this cylinder is part of the company's High Force Hydraulics product line.

Wondering if this cylinder being aluminum makes it lighter than a comparable steel one?
Answer by: Customer Support on Jul 7, 2025, 1:03 PM
Yes, this cylinder's aluminum construction offers significant weight savings compared to steel cylinders of the same capacity, which improves portability.
Question by: Neil B on May 13, 2025, 8:59 PM
so once i lift with it, can i back the pressure off and it’ll still hold where i left it?
Answer by: Customer Support on May 15, 2025, 7:56 PM
With the locking collar nut engaged, the load is supported mechanically so you can release hydraulic pressure and still keep the load held in position. That setup is meant for jobs where you need the lift held for a while, like maintenance or positioning work.
