Designed for confined spaces with as little as 1⅝" of clearance, the RLS Series Low Profile Single-Acting Cylinder, 20 Ton, delivers 20 tons of lifting capacity at a rated 10,000 PSI in compliance with ASME B30.1. With a cylinder effective area of 4.430 sq in and an extended height of 2.438 inches, it is well-suited for maintenance, pressing, and lifting tasks where vertical space is severely restricted.

The cylinder body, piston, and gland nut are treated with SPX Hydraulic Technologies' "Power Tech" process for corrosion and abrasion resistance. A domed piston rod minimizes the effects of off-center loading, while a heavy-duty spring provides fast piston return. A 3/8" NPTF female half coupler is included as standard, angled upward to maximize clearance in tight installations. Oil ports are 3/8" NPTF.

Got a job where the clearance is real tight, maybe just under two inches of headroom. Think this ram would even fit in there?

At its collapsed height of 1 and 5/8 inches minimum clearance requirement and an extended height of 2.438 inches, it was built specifically for situations like that. The coupler is angled upward on this model too, which helps keep everything tucked in when you're working in a space that doesn't give you much room to maneuver. For maintenance lifts and pressing work where vertical clearance is the main problem, this cylinder is about as low-profile as it gets at 20 tons of capacity.
