Question by: Terry E on Oct 9, 2025, 10:33 AM
got a tight spot under a machine base, how little clearance do you need to get this cylinder in there?
Answer by: Customer Support on Oct 11, 2025, 6:44 AM
For confined setups, the RLS series is called out as ideal where you only have about 1 5/8 inch up to 4 inches of clearance. The RLS50 itself has an extended height of 2.188 inches, so it stays pretty low profile.
Question by: Lyle J on Nov 21, 2025, 4:21 PM
What kinda space do I need to work with this little feller?
Answer by: Customer Support on Nov 23, 2025, 7:54 AM
This low-profile cylinder requires just 2.188 inches of extended height, making it ideal for tight spots.
Question by: Roy B on Jul 27, 2025, 10:12 AM
corrosion resistance on these things -- is that just a coating or does it go deeper than that?
Answer by: Customer Support on Jul 28, 2025, 7:05 PM
The cylinder body, piston, and gland nut all go through what SPX calls "Power Tech" treatment, which covers corrosion and abrasion resistance. It's not just a surface coat slapped on at the end. That treatment is applied to the core working components, so you're getting protection where the wear actually happens.
