Question by: Cindy S on Jul 15, 2025, 8:32 PM
Got a 100-ton press job in a real tight spot. How short does this thing collapse down to, and will it handle that kind of load at low clearance?
Answer by: Customer Support on Jul 17, 2025, 8:19 AM
Collapsed height on this cylinder comes in at 3.5 inches, and it's rated to work in clearances anywhere from 3.5 up to just under 11.5 inches. Full 100-ton capacity is available throughout that range, so tight quarters don't mean you have to derate it. Pressure rating is 10,000 PSI, and the effective piston area is 19.63 square inches, which is how it gets to that tonnage.
Question by: Rusty R on Sep 22, 2025, 9:42 AM
What's the overall height on this thing when it's fully extended?
Answer by: Customer Support on Sep 23, 2025, 10:49 AM
Fully extended, this cylinder reaches 7.75 inches in height.
Question by: Bonnie D on Feb 13, 2026, 10:18 AM
tight spot job here. what kind of clearance does this 100 ton RSS cylinder need to fit?
Answer by: Customer Support on Feb 15, 2026, 6:19 AM
For confined setups, it is meant to work in clearances from 3 1/2 inches up to 11 7/16 inches, thanks to the short, compact body.
