This Eaton Vickers RV3-16 Series direct-acting relief cartridge valve is designed for pressure control in demanding hydraulic applications. The direct-acting differential poppet type valve is suitable for mobile and industrial uses such as harvesters and refuse haulers. The screw adjustment allows for an adjustable range of 1200-3500 PSI.
This cartridge-style valve requires a machined cavity or housing for installation. With a maximum flow rate of 80 GPM and a maximum operating pressure of 5000 PSI, it provides reliable performance. The valve is contamination-tolerant and features fast response, with a leakage rate of 0.25 cc/min. Buna-N seals are included. Recommended filtration level is 18/16/13 microns.

got a system that needs a relief set somewhere between 1200 and 3500 psi. is that the adjustment range on this one?
Answer by: Customer Support on Nov 3, 2025, 6:47 AM
For pressure setting, the screw adjustment range is 1200 to 3500 PSI on this RV3-16 series direct acting relief cartridge valve.

running this on a refuse hauler setup and just want to make sure the pressure range works out. we need somewhere around 2800 psi steady. that gonna be fine with this valve?
Answer by: Customer Support on Nov 19, 2025, 11:11 AM
At 2800 psi you are well within the adjustment range on this one. The screw adjustment covers 1200 to 3500 psi, so you have room on both ends of that range. One thing worth knowing is that anything above 3000 psi requires a steel housing. If your system is sitting at 2800 and you are using a cast or aluminum housing, you should be fine, but keep that steel housing requirement in mind if you ever push the setting higher during setup or testing.

got a steel block machined for a C-16-2 cavity, is that the right fit for this RV3-16 cartridge?
Answer by: Customer Support on Jul 16, 2025, 5:50 PM
You’re on the right track. The RV3-16 is a screw-in cartridge valve that installs in a C-16-2 cavity or matching housing, and it uses 2 ports.

Will this cartridge valve fit in place of a Vickers RV3-16 I'm replacing?
Answer by: Customer Support on Jul 31, 2025, 6:19 AM
This RV3-16 series cartridge valve is designed as a direct replacement for existing Vickers RV3-16 valves, ensuring a straightforward swap.
