fitting's made of stainless steel -- does that hold up decent in wet or high-humidity environments, or is it gonna rust out on me after a season or two?

Stainless steel holds up well in wet and high-humidity conditions. On top of that, this fitting also has Dura-Kote plating, which adds another layer of corrosion protection beyond what the base material already provides. For demanding environments where moisture or corrosion is a regular concern, that combination makes it a solid long-term choice.

got a hose that takes a -6 fitting, is this one the right dash size or am i off a size

For hose sizing, it matches a -6 hose dash size. On the port side, it has a 0.375 inch male pipe NPT (MPT) end, so it is meant to thread into a matching female NPT port.
