Got a -4 hose I'm trying to tie into a -5 port connection. This the right fitting to bridge that?

That's what this one's built for. One end takes a -4 hose and the other is sized for a -5 connection, so you're not forcing anything or jury-rigging an adapter chain to make it work. The JIC 37 end runs 0.5 inch, and the second end has a 0.625 inch hex, which gives you something solid to wrench against during install. Stainless steel construction keeps it from giving you grief in environments where corrosion tends to be a problem.
